Course Description |
Scouts learn about mammals in the area and how to classify and build a shelter for small mammals. Geology is one of the elective merit badges for the BSA Distinguished Conservation Service Award for Boy Scouts. |
Who can participate? | Current members of the Boy Scouts of America. Registration limited to 15 scouts. |

Cost | Program fee of $15.00 per scout - non-refundable |
Helpful Preparation | Scouts should bring a blue card signed by Scoutmaster. Scouts should read the following:
1. Mammal Study Merit Badge pamphlet, 2023 edition 2. Printed copy of the Mammal Study workbook - November 2023 edition 3. Completed requirement #3a or #3b or #3c as a pre-requisite. |

Arrival | Plan to arrive 10 minutes early, late arrivals disrupt the workshop. |
Attire | Scouts will be indoors and outdoors, please wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Snacks and a water bottle if desired. |
Parents and Siblings | Parents and siblings are welcome if they do not impact the program. Sometimes, parents can assist the Counselor |
Weather | In the unlikely event that a program is canceled, scouts will be notified. |
