Course Description |
Scouts learn about ecology, pollution, endangered species and conservation. Scouts will perform interactive hands-on experiments that not only teach but are fun!
Environmental Science is one of the required merit badges for the World Conservation Award for Boy Scouts, and one of the required merit badges for the BSA Distinguished Conservation Service Award for Boy Scouts. |
Who can participate? | Current members of the Boy Scouts of America. Registration limited to 15 scouts. |

Cost | Program fee of $15.00 per scout - non-refundable |
Helpful Preparation | Scouts should mail a blue card signed by Scoutmaster to the registar. Scouts should read the following:
1) Environmental Science pamphlet, 2023 edition 2) Printed copy of the Environmental Science workbook - November 2023 Edition 3) Post-Requisites: one from #3c, #3e, #3f. |

Arrival | Plan to arrive 10 minutes early, late arrivals disrupt the program. |
Attire | Scouts will be indoors and outdoors, please wear clothing and shoes appropriate for the weather.
Bring a lunch, snacks and water bottle as well as insect repellant if desired. |
Parents and Siblings | Parents and mature siblings are welcome if they do not impact the program. Sometimes, parents can assist the Counselor. Museum entrance fees may apply for parents and siblings who remain in the Museum as site visitors. |
Weather | In the unlikely event that a program is rescheduled, scouts will be notified. |
