Description
Scouts learn basics of birding in hands-on applications. Learn how to use binoculars and discover local birds.
Learn how to use a bird guide and learn a few bird songs
Bird Study is one of the elective merit badges for the BSA Distinguished Conservation Service Award for Boy Scouts.

Current members of the Boy Scouts of America. Registration limited to 15 scouts.

Preparation
Scouts should mail a blue card signed by Scoutmaster to the registar. Scouts should read the following:
Bird Study Merit Badge pamphlet, 2024 edition,
Printed copy of the Bird Study workbook - April 2024 edition
Prerequisite #8 completed, bring the object or picture of your project as proof.

ArrivalPlan to arrive 10 minutes early, late arrivals disrupt the workshop.
AttireScouts will be indoors and outdoors, please wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Lunch, snacks, a water bottle, insect repellant and binoculars if desired.

Parents and siblings are welcome if they do not impact the program. Sometimes, parents can assist the Counselor
